I saw a comment today that claimed the Health Care Law will ruin the economy and make it harder for small business to grow.
I’m sorry, but the truth is, you can’t jump-start the economy by driving workers further into the hole.
It takes money to live, and with today’s costs, it takes a lot of money to live reasonably comfortably…with a good home, food, commute costs, child care, medical and dental all within one’s ability to pay.
If these basic needs can’t be met, your worker is slaving away all week and coming home with a paycheck that puts him or her further into the red.
Health care costs are at the top of the list: More families are driven into bankruptcy every year by catastrophic health care costs than by any other cause.
That’s not sustainable and it’s not acceptable.
If you don’t think you can offer your workers a reasonable wage and adequate benefits, think again. You can, and you know it.
Go back to square one and hope you land on compassion.
