Dreaming About Augmented Reality

I first saw this video about a year ago and at the time, it totally jolted me. I really believed that augmented reality was going to be really big, really fast.

Unfortunately, so far, that hasn’t  happened.  Augmented reality just hasn’t taken off. Well okay, it has in some places.

But for the most part, it’s still just an academic exercise.  Or a toy. Or both.

When are we gonna see practical applications, like…shopping?

OK, well, you still can’t fix a car with it…. Can you?

I don’t know, it just seems so…voodoo…like a ouji board…

And maybe even a tad invasive…?

Still pondering…what do you think?? Let me know and, don’t forget to leave your business card.

Thanks for watching!

Dan, I am a big AR fan. I think it is going to play a big part in the merging of the real world and digital information.

There are so many implementations to consider with this technology. Virtual tours, training, geo-location games, and a number of uses I never saw until I read your article. I am betting big on this technology to become a mainstream part of our daily life in 10-15 years.
