Robert Noyce, member of the Traitorous Eight from Shockley Laboratories, co-founder of Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel, co-inventor of the integrated circuit, mentor to Steve Jobs and many other entrepreneurs, “Mayor of Silicon Valley,” left this world on June 3, 1990.
What a tremendous and beautiful presence he was in this Valley.
“Make sure we are preparing our next generation to flourish in a high-tech age. And that means education of the lowest and the poorest, as well as at the graduate school level.”
