Zuckerberg’s Facebook “Illuminati” Hoodie for sale on EBay?

Last week I was scrolling through Twitter when I came across a message saying that the EBay developer conference was coming up this week.

Coming on the heels of the ill-fated All Things Digital Conference interview of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg with Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg, where the young CEO was so flustered that at one point he removed his trademark hoodie — only to reveal an untrademarked Facebook logo jokingly referred to as the “illuminati logo” — I replied with a tongue-in-cheek message saying,

eBay Developers Conference is next week … What I wanna know is, will Zuckerberg put his hoodie up for sale? http://www.ebaydevcon.com/

Well today I got a reply from the official EBay Developer handle, @eBayDev. As it turns out, there are at least two Zuckerberg jackets up for sale:

This one is up for a starting bid of $4500.  It’s authentic-enough looking that it already has 48 bids. It may even be the real deal — the Facebook icons for “friends”, “messages” and “notifications” are also stitched into the front of the jacket in the same place as on Zuckerberg’s hoodie.  The unidentified seller is putting the proceeds to charity.

This one carries an asking price of $1000.   It’s an obvious knock-off because it is white on the outside, but who knows? Maybe it is a “his” and “her” set. Broke up. THAT oughtta send the rumor mills whirring… The starting bid for this one is just $250 and so far, there are no takers.

I  don’t know what inspired these guys but it will be interesting to see what the final bids are.
